About Us

Besides the weekly classes, the School organises other activities at which one can freely participate.

The idea is to put into practice what philosophy teaches us. Participants are invited to engage in activities such as singing, flower arrangement, calligraphy or simply a walk, all in a spirit of full attention.

Together with other students one discovers a new way of action. It is based on attention and measure and allows to find rest in activity. It is a training ground for its application in daily life.

Cultural Day

One example of these is the "Cultural Day" organised annually. Students are given the opportunity to try a wide range of activities such as drawing, sculpture, dance, drama or for example to attend a lecture on India's spiritual history.

Practical days and Residentials

Practical days

These are organised for students who have been with the School for a number of terms. The days are a balance between study, practical work and for those practising it, meditation. The practical work may involve maintenance work to keep the house in a fine state of repair and decoration which is conducive to philosophical work.

Meditating students are invited to residential weekends or weeks, which are held two or thee times each year. During these optional breaks, they are given the chance to do practical work and artistic activities.

Participants also have plenty of opportunity to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the philosophical material, through study and meditation sessions.

The combination of fine activities, practical work, study and meditation is a rewarding balance, and the residential stays provide an enjoyable counterpoint to a busy daily life.
